Droids and other things

So that is what a 'Droid' is.

After I was given my orders, naturally I hastened to follow them. I found the place. Luckily, unlike my old 'dreams', it did not feature an endless corridor. Since taking on this role, I've become a lot more patient, but that would just be taking the biscuit.

Inside, it looked just like a computer suite in a school. That would be apart from the mechanical rat-like robots that were hooked into every monitor.

Rat robots? I do not kid you. They were a dull grey, and rectangular. They had no wheels, but seemed to move along just fine. On the top, at what I presumed was their head, they each had a long thin rod of metal pointing straight up. In fact, they looked very much like the Star Wars mouse droids in shape, except for the non-existent wheels and antennae which the Star Wars creations did not have.

Apparently they can't speak English, because, well, they're robots. I have yet to establish whether they have free will and minds like I do or they might just be mindless drones. What does it really matter? Only the ability to have a decent conversation.

I'm to work with a few of these Droids. This will be fun. (Or as close to fun as can be. Let's hope I'm remembering how 'fun' feels correctly)

On My First Mission

The Lord of the Tower gave me my first mission just a few moments ago.

To test my worth, and to prove that I really do deserve to serve under him, I need to pass three tests. These would be Strength, Skill and Loyalty, in no particular order.

To begin with, I have to head down to the Factory. I do believe it's the building I saw back when I was... human. Isn't that interesting.

I'm to meet with these things named 'Droids'. Sounds like Star Wars to me.
How do I even remember Star Wars? My memory must be faulty, I'll have it looked at as soon as I've checked out these Droids.

I Am Alive

I am alive.

I do not remember the time before. It brings back memories, painful memories, ones I do not wish to remember.

Let me write down my experience here.

The Master took me in, after I tore at myself in agony and confusion. After the termination of my family, I had a lapse in service, and could not go on. I decided to end it all.

The band of metal I wore glowed red hot, and then white hot, and expanded. Metal grew on me, over me, and in me. It did not hurt; I felt only a dull fuzzy buzz.

When I looked in a mirror I saw how I was changed. My face remains the same, but my body is hugely changed.

My face... the memories, I must not think of them. I must think only of my new body, my new life, and the new chance I have been given.

My arms now end in metal gloves; gloves that could crush tanks, but their fingers can handle even bombs with the greatest care and dexterity.

My feet are like steel capped boots, except they are not just caps.

I am reborn in the image of my Lord, may I serve him well.

I am... alive.
Not in the old sense of the word, living with a fully human bag of flesh and organs, but nonetheless I live.

The Steel One calls for me. I cannot disobey my Master; not now I am so deeply bonded to him.

I go at his command.
